About Your Farmers: Nathan & Jody
Although we are both biologists, neither of us was raised on a farm so we took a big plunge when we from city life to farm life in 2013.
Our first year of farming on a rented property was full of adventures as we learned to farm "by google" and new experiences. From chasing our sheep down the road to giving mouth-to-mouth to a chicken, you can read about our farming adventures here: www.intoleftfield.blogspot.com.
In April 2014 we bought a small, run down and overgrazed farm in Glenora. We set to work, and continue to work, on turning the property back into lush, productive land using sustainable methods such as minimal tillage and rotational grazing. Our farming crew works just as hard: our first batch of pigs turned a patch of overgrown land into garden while our goat and sheep weed around the pond. Chickens fertilize the pastures and ducks take care of pest control. Our 3 fantastic farm dogs work to keep everyone safe from predators.
We love our farm and we hope that our passion shows in the food that we produce!
